Dr. John Kumah’s sudden passing has left many in deep sorrow. His contributions to the nation will be dearly missed, Following his passage, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Frank Annor Dompreh were quick to respond to the sad news.

Emphatically as he was known as Deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Ejisu, Numerous NPP members are mourning his loss. The impact of his death will be felt for a long time.

However, he passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at age 40 after known for battling with a short illness

He left behind his lovely wife and six children.

President Akufo-Addo praised the deputy finance minister’s commitment to serving the nation. He highlighted the minister’s loyalty and dedication towards work.

“I knew him very well both in my days as Leader of the Opposition and as President of the Republic, and his warmth, humility, and genuine concern for others endeared him to me and to all who crossed his path. His unwavering dedication to service, his tireless commitment to the betterment of our nation, and his profound passion for uplifting the lives of the people of Ejisu and Ghana were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him,” part of his message read.

“He was a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party in the Ejisu constituency, which he served with great enthusiasm and devotion as a Member of Parliament. He was the first Chief Executive Officer of the new entity I set up in my first term, the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP),” the president stated.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also honored the deceased with heartfelt words on a post he made on X.

Whereas in the post the vice president praised John Kumah for his dedication and intelligence as a devoted member of the NPP congress.

“A truly committed member of our administration and party who dedicated his all to the success of our endeavors. Rest well, John,” the vice president’s post stated.

Also the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Frank Annor Dompreh, who also made a post on X wrote “Rest well, bro… I am devastated.”
