The Amansie South District is one of the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana, and forms part of the 43 of MMDAs in the Ashanti Region.
The Amansie South District Assembly is carved out of the Amansie West District Assembly as one of the 38 newly created and upgraded districts Assemblies in 2018.
Created with LI 2325, the Amansie South District Assembly is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and occupies land area of about 1,364 square kilometers has Manso Adubia as its capital.
It was inaugurated on March 15, 2018 alongside other 37 newly created districts.
The District shares common boundaries with Amansie West District to the north, Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal and Atwima Mponua District to the east, Amansie Central Municipal and Obuasi Municipal to the west, and Upper Denkyira West District to the south.
The population of the District according to 2021 population and housing census stands at 116,366 with 61,460 males with 54,906 females.
